Rumors- Debunked!

 Rumor number five: Hermione attacked Ron with flying birds because she loves him and not Harry in HBP.

Weeelllll... here's what's going on.  Harry has just spotted Hermione run off into a room and conjure little birds to go around her head.

"Harry could not help admiring her spellwork at a time like this."

Well, Hermione asks where Ron is, and Harry says he doesn't know.  Now, in my opinion, Hermione is just checking out to see if Ron is nowhere near so that she can snog Harry.  But then, lo and behold, here he comes, waltzing in with Lavender!  He seems like he is about to make out with her, which is exactly what Harry was planning to do with Hermione when HE came in!

"The door behind them burst open.  To Harry's horror, Ron came in, laughing, pulling Lavender by the hand."

Poor Harry!  NOW when will he have a chance to snog Hermione?  :(

Even Ron senses the awkwardness.

"but said with an odd mixture of bravado and awkwardness..."

Hermione then tells Ron, "You shouldn't leave Lavender waiting outside... She'll wonder where you've gone."

Hermione then "walked very slowly and erectly toward the door."

She doesn't want to go.  She obviously wants Harry to suggest a more private place is all!  But him being his normal self, he doesn't know how to read a girl's mind, and doesn't know what to do.  Poor Hermione...

"Harry thought he heard a sob before it [the door] slammed."
