Why do we ship Dan and Emma?  Well, it's actually pretty obvious.  They seem to really like each other, more than brother and sister.  They are always together at premieres or behind the scenes of the movies they are making, and they just make such a cute couple!  I'm sure that they are secretly dating but can't say anything for fear of tabloids.  How would it look if the the two actors who play Harry and Hermione started dating if their book characters didn't?

In this scene, Harry tries to console his friend, but the job becomes infinitely harder when Ron and Lavender come bumbling into this dark corner of Hogwarts looking for a place to snog. Hermione shoos them away with a magical gust of wind, then weeps harder. Even after ''Cut!'' Watson continues to tear up, and Radcliffe offers comfort with a lingering side hug and whispered praise. ''Bloody f---ing brilliant, Emma. Just top-notch.''

Do I even NEED to point out what is cute?!?!

An interview between the Leaky Cauldron and Chris Columbus

*TLC*: Quick thing about the end of the movie. There's a very adorable scene
where Hermione hugs Harry, but she doesn't hug Ron - what was behind that
non-hug for you?

CC: Did you read book four?

*TLC*: Yeah, I did. [You've no idea.]

CC: So, it's a little bit of a taste of what's to happen, what's coming up.

TLC: So it is foreshadowing.

CC: It is foreshadowing, yeah. I just love the idea that the two of them,
that there's an impending crush. And it's such a real thing for kids at that
age. For instance, I asked Emma to hug Dan, and she said, 'No way,' and that
was the day she was the most nervous being on the set. She was like, 'I am
not going to hug him, no I'm not.'
And I said, 'You've been petrified, this is one of your best friends, if not
your best friend, you have to hug him,' I said, 'but you won't hug Ron,
because that's where the tension is.

If you read carefully you'll see that maybe what Chris was referring that Emma liked Daniel and that is why she didn't want to hug him in front of all those people.

It's just a thought :)

Emma and Dan, what was it like to hug each other in one scene?

Emma (looks at Dan): “Well ...”

Dan (looking back): “Be careful ...”

Emma: “Okay, I’ll be careful. For starters, it was cringe, but then it was
okay, I mean, to hug someone in front of about 300 kids and you know,
everybody in the whole entire world. But I mean, it was okay. He was really
nice about it. He could have said, ‘Eww! Get off me!’ He was very nice.”

Dan: “I didn’t mind at all. Would you mind hugging her?” (blushes slightly)
“Why would I mind?”

Female Interviewer: So... Daniel, I hear that you recently admitted that you did have a crush on one of your co-stars...

Dan: (brief silence) Oh. I-I-I hadn't heard that.

Female interviewer: Nooo?! You didn't have a - a crush on Emma?

Dan: Oh, when I was - oh, on the first film - on the first film - I said- I-I-I had a crush on Emma on the first film, yeah, but - not - not anymore.

Male interviewer: She is HOT, is she not? (female interviewer laughs) How old is she? How old is Emma?

Dan: Emma is fifteen (emphasis on fifteen and separates every word).

Male interviewer: I thinks she's a cute... [female interviewer laughing: you have a crush on a 15 year-old, Mojo!] That is a crazy... - she's a little cutie pie!

Dan: See - you know, she's - Emma is beautiful, yes.
